Posting on social media is easy. Creating social media posts that consistently get engagement can be more difficult.

It really isn't difficult to post on social media...It's not the posting that is difficult but getting engagement from your audience. If you're new to social media, you might be wondering why some posts do well and others don't. What does your target audience want to see from you?

Social media really is for being social and that is something that digital marketers need to keep top of mind. They need to remember the 80/20 rule where you provide 80% valuable content and 20% of the posts include a call to action and possibly a mention of something you have for sale.

This is the BEST social media platform

I'm often asked about the BESt social media platform. Here's part one of my answer.

  • What IS the BEST social media platform?

  • The purpose of social media is BEING SOCIAL!
  • You must be social on social media in order to be successful, personally or professionally.

Hashtags and more to reach your audience on social media

Social Media is FREE advertising and a great way to serve your audience. Here are two more ways to effectively do that.

 In this week's episode:

  • You should put at least two hashtags on each social media post and on every social media platform.
  • Instagram feed posts can have up to 30 hashtags.
  • Use one uniquely branded hashtag and one relevant (topical) hashtag.
  • You cannot own a hashtag, but you can dominate them.
  • Put #businessfabulous in the search of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • It's really important to try new things like STORIES on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Instagram users go to stories first!
